Game Day

January 31, 2010

Right after church we'll meet in the parking lot and head over to the Waynick's home, 7190 Otter Drive. If you have a game you'd like to play, please bring it. Diane will provide lunch -- YUM -- and she hopes that there will be lots of people attending. It might be nice if you let her know if you'll be there so she can plan accordingly. If you have questions, give me a buzz.

ELF!

Saturday, December 12 at 7 p.m. the church is showing the movie Elf. Because this is an incredibly busy time of the year for everyone, this church event will also be the Warriors event for the month. The movie is hosted by the Evangelism Board and the LWML (a.k.a. WOR, or Women of Redeemer), so the key is this: bring a friend and you and your friend will each get a ticket to win a door prize. And it's more fun with friends, right? We'll show the movie (with popcorn and drinks) and then Pastor will talk BRIEFLY about the movie and what Christmas in our homes is reflecting, and then we'll dive into the desserts...and, if you must, coffee. So bring the fam and your friends and we'll all make a night of it.

Pizza Planning Party at Peggy's

Sunday, October 4, after church

I love a lot of alliteration! Sorry. We're going to have pizza and beverages (BYOB) at my place after church on October 4. Games for the kids, young and old, and a little bit of planning for the year. I want everybody to be able to have a say -- you know, whether we do a week-long camping trip or save our pennies with a game night or do a servant event or Bible study. So bring your beer, your appetite, and your opinions!

Six Flags Cancelled

If you haven't seen the news lately, you should watch the local channels. They have great video of Six Flags roller coasters almost underwater! Hence, our trip this Saturday is cancelled. :( Unless you want to take your chances -- and your floaties.

Six Flags Military Appreciation Day

Saturday, September 26

Six Flags is offering free admission to active duty soldiers (Soldiers?) and up to two dependents; additional dependents will be half-price. We're going to meet at the church at 8:30 and carpool up there. Pastor and Jen plan on going, as do Peg and Sam. Katie and Corey will meet us at the park. Anybody else who would like to go just let Peg or Pastor know so we don't leave you behind!

Here's the website if you want more information: http://www.sixflags.com/overGeorgia/events/MilitaryAppreciation2009.aspx

P.S. Bring extra clothes -- those water rides can be vicious!

Farewell to the Vanderbilts

The time has come to say goodbye! We all love Sara and Chaplain Vanderbilt, and we're going to miss them individually and as a church. This Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at Scott and Peggy's house (1526 Autumn Ridge Drive) we're going to have one last bash for them. We'll provide hot dogs and hamburgers -- and probably a beer or two -- if you'll help us out with the side items or desserts. Let Peggy (706-221-6067) or Katie (706-392-0687) know if you plan on attending. As always, kids are invited.

Talent Show and Italian Dinner

Hope you're all planning on coming to the Talent Show and Italian Dinner! It's going to be Saturday, March 28 at 5:30; tickets are $10 and all the proceeds benefit our youth. If you have kids in middle school or high school, please bring them by the church at 3:30 so we can set up and get cooking!
